#15 PV and HOME!!!!!

Image
So let me get this right? You want me to get into the shower, turn on the water and then flip this electrical switch and readjust the temperature on the white head. Correct? I have a better idea, let's just have a semi warm shower from the water in the tinaco on the roof!!! My people don't do electricity and water.... Tuesday morning we are still under a code red and a stay in place order but we decide to make a run for it. Oh my, the roads were so spooky with no traffic. I put the passports in my back pocket thinking I'd give up my purse but still have the passports to get out of the country. Around every corner, I'm looking for a blockade . I really don't want them to burn this nice big car we are in.... Sandra drove us on the scenic route through Aticama along the ocean front. We didn't stop for oysters as the places were still all closed and there were no divers in the water.  Las Varas, we are half way to Puerto Vallarta. The main road is festooned with f...

#14 CODE RED

It was tricky getting this pic as folks kept posing in front of it. San Blas has many gorgeous murals. Usually we are speeding by in a taxi so I don't get a good shot. This was a lovely late find. Pipila is a new restaurant down on the estuary. Loved how they brought Ray all of his ingredients for his drink and he put them all together to his his taste. Ray has steak and I had ribs. Both were very good. This is our unit at Bungalows Alicia. We have gone full circle. This is the very unit we stayed in 20 years ago. There was a garage on the right that is now another unit where I used to teach art on Saturdays. The unit is very bright, comfortable and has AC. This is the house across the road where my friend Ramona was raising her 6 children.  These cobble stone streets are killers to walk on. We hear him coming before we can see him. It is the ice cream man!!! Sometimes he has 4 flavours. Other times only 2 but it is always a nice treat. I don't think it is actually ice cream...

#13 On the Move Again......

Things didn't work out at house number one so we moved onto Portola. Louis could only accommodate us for 3 nights and on Friday we moved into Bungalows Alicia which is funnily enough the very first place se stayed here in San Blas 20 years ago. The marriage split up and the apartments have been taken over by the wife, Alicia, adding a lovely touch. They are clean and comfortable.  Off to the market to get a buggy load of goodies. Ray wanted papaya for his yogurt and fruitus breakfasts. We couldn't find the granola this year to go on top but still delicious!!! There are outside vendors as well as those on the inside. The little old lady that I always bought from isn't here this year. Sad.  I wanted some little sweet bananas but these looked past prime..... This is down the street beside the market where all of the fish vendors are on the right. Anything you could possibly want is on your left. I used to buy raw oysters here and eat a bag all by myself but not this year. ...
