We had unexpected company at Banana Bay on Monday. She said she wanted to come to Canada but Ray said a hard no. She got a good lunch!!!

It was freezing here this week as you can see from the dress of Jerrisma. It got all the way down to 18!!!!

This is actually the wrong bill that I wanted to show you. The missing one had a 5% cover charge, 10% VAT and 15% gratuity. Meaning a 30% tax bill onto your dinner. Wow!!!

Here we are having yogurt at the local Lucaya Yogurt shop. Maria, her grandson Issac and PJ. You get to choose one of 10 different yogurts and then get to add any of the dozens of toppings. It is great fun.

Issac
When PJ walked in out door, the first thing he said was, "I'm going to be the next prime minister of the Bahamas!" After spending a few hours with him, I think he well could do that.

There is a local belief that coconut milk can cure anything. Interesting......

You have to use your imagination here. This is the old church and there is a new one on the right attached. It is located in Holmes Rock north of Eight Mile Rock on the way to the West End.

We were invited to service by Monique here at the alter giving her sermon. This is the second outstanding woman I have heard preach here on the island. This message brought me to tears but I must add that I wasn't alone....

It was amazing how large the sanctuary was inside. Very comfortable pews I might add. Nice to be able to sit beside my friend Monique.

This is the cruise ship garage where they go for maintenance.

This is a huge new sign that has been added to the corner where you go across the bridge on the way to the West End. I guess I like it so much I added two pictures of it here. Beautiful!!!

After church we were invited back to Maria's house for lunch. This is obviously a table set for royalty. It is a good indicator of the marvelous meal that was to follow.

Salad with homemade crab salad on top. Oh my.....it was so delicious!!!

Peas and rice, mac and cheese fish and lobster. An amazing meal for our last Sunday on the island. I think I'm finally lobstered out BUT....I still have 3 in the freezer. We leave in two days on Wed. We fly together on Western Air from Freeport to Nassau. Then Ray flies to Toronto via Air Canada and I follow 6 hours later on West Jet.
It has been an amazing time. I have met so many wonderful Bahamian women. Many say they want to visit Canada and I would love to host them. I think they are mostly shoppers and that could prove a problem in my hood.
On Friday we fly to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We will be met by our friend Sandra who will drive us the 3 hours north to San Blas. It always feels like going home when I return.
When the airport here is fixed, tariffs are all gone and the world returns to "normal", I would love to return here. Until then, thanks so much for reading. I'll be back here on Monday from Mexico and the tale will contine.
Blessings to you!!!
